New Blog

This is a personal blog, where I share memories, opinions, ideas and even some computer code. I have three areas of interest that will get most of the attention: my Christian faith, my political ideas and my computer. There will be a number of entries on this new site, for I’ve written and saved things that I wanted to share someday.

I’m an American. I’ve always been a proud, patriotic American, but I feel even more so now that I, for the time being, don’t live in America. My love for America is primarily based on the America that Providence gave our founding fathers, not necessarily the America you read about in the news or even in historical record.

I’m an older guy. I’m so old that I can remember when nobody had a TV. The first house that I remember (23 Glenora Drive, Rochester, NY) had a coal burning cookstove, a coal burning furnace and an ice box. I’m so old that I can remember when “Keep off the grass” meant “Don’t walk on the lawn”! For those of you in suburban Sacramento, California, I’m so old that I can remember when Greenback Lane was a lane instead of a boulevard.

I now live in Finland with my precious wife, Pirjo. The things that happened to bring this about are statistically impossible. God did it. But the whole story is reserved for another place.

I have a son and grandson in Sacramento, California. My son has his own business. I have two brothers in the Sacramento area and another in southern California. I have nieces and nephews in theSacramento area, in Silicon Valley and in Japan.
