Last Days Action Plan

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, we have, or should have, an eye directed toward the promised coming of our Lord Yeshua for His church and also toward the supposed 2016 election in America.

If we could be sure that our Lord was going to come for the church before the election, we might be able to afford to sit back and wait for that to happen. But the time of the Lord’s coming has not been revealed. Any speculation as to when that will happen is just that — speculation. Besides, in His Word, He admonishes us to continue our work until He comes back for us. We should, therefore, proceed as though His coming is after the election and find out what He wants us to do. In the meantime, keep the Lord’s promise in the forefront of your daily thinking. You cannot be a good soldier of Christ if your desires for your own future crowd out your concern for what Heaven is about to do on this earth.

Contrary to what many say, the whole idea of the separation of church and state is not found in the U.S. Constitution. Our devotion to Christ and the advancement of His empire is job one for the believer. Everything else that we do, whether it be politics, business, sports or whatever, is to be subordinate to, but not separate from our duty to Christ and the Christian cause. Many churches teach that, because so much evil is done by the politicians, that Christians should not be involved in politics. I believed that to be true in my youth. All that this does is to turn the political arena over to the workers of evil. I am calling upon my fellow believers in Christ to recognize that this non-involvement is not a Scriptural idea. We must all be willing to engage in this spiritual and political war. If we are not fighting the good fight of faith, we are cooperating with the forces of evil.

So, what are we to do? One thing that each and every one of us can do is to confess the sins of our nation, repenting of them as though they were our own sins. Just as Daniel did for Israel (Daniel 9:3-19), fast as the Lord calls you to. Pray that the dead “spirituality” of America be brought to life by God’s Holy Spirit so that we might be empowered to do His will in His way.

We, in the body of Christ, must stop fighting and/or ignoring one another! We must actively support each other to do God’s will in our churches, communities, states and the nation.

I call on the Bible believing pastors and leaders in each community to gather for prayer and mutual support on a regular basis. The aforementioned leaders should include church leaders, but also believing political leaders, and business leaders. Let us act together as a Christian nation should.

There are a number of candidates for President and Congress who are servants of the true and living God. Let them pray (hopefully together) until God reveals His will and on that basis select one of their number for each office. Then let all members support the one chosen. “United we stand; divided we fall” applies to our work as believers in this world. Remember that, unlike worldly politics, ego has no place in the work of the body of Christ.

This election cycle will be completely turned on its head if we simply employ the principles of Christianity in the way we conduct it.
