How can we relate to God as Father?

This is not a theological dissertation. It’s a practical suggestion.

The Bible tells us that when we are born again into the family of God by acknowledging Jesus as our Lord, we are adopted as sons, that God becomes our Father in Heaven. His goal for us is not just an official statement that some sort of relationship exists, but a real, living person-to-person relationship.

Living Godly: Rules and Relationships

A lady friend (I’ll call her Mary) visited my wife and me with a distressing problem. A number of years ago, her husband had left her for another woman, whom he married. Mary would still like to be married and to have children. Her father is a missionary, a theologian who knows his Bible. He has told her that, as a divorced woman, she must remain alone. I’d like to explore the basis for his judgment, for the principle on which it is based applies to many aspects of living the Christian life.

Before a Christian votes, he must consider…

In the conscience and heart of a Christian, and the remnant of a Christian nation, there is the natural and requisite commitment to principle, morality and the Holy Spirit that must guide our votes and our nominations. We are responsible before God for each and every endorsement that we make via the ballot, because each ballot represents the sovereign authority of our nation. It is without conscience for a Christian to cast a vote for someone who one knows will enact evil law, because the authority one deputizes to an evil person, via one’s suffrage, is an act of physically empowering wickedness. Giuliani, Romney, etc., are all absolute disgraces for a Christian to vote for, and I would never consider it. — Andrew Longman in World Net Daily

Democracy Countdown

The things spelled out on this page is one of the reasons that our founding fathers gave us a republic rather than a democracy — to stop this cycle. We have denied the republic in favor of a democracy. That’s why we’re in trouble.

Your Mate — Held in Trust

My wife is just that: my wife. But is she really? She is not my possession, for our relationship is temporary — for as long as we both shall live. My wife was bought and paid for by the blood of Jesus Christ, even as I was.

Relationships — Expectations and Accountability

Years ago, I was in a marriage relationship that failed. In fact, it was a failure from the beginning, but, because I wanted it to succeed, I kept working to make it so.

Presuppositions of faith

I have known people who have been Christians, sometimes for many years, who have rejected the faith in favor of some other religion. I have also rejected the religions of others. I have wondered why reasonings which seem so logical to some are illogical to others. I may have found my answer in the theological realm of “presuppositionalism”.

Father Holds my Hand

I am one who likes to talk about my Heavenly Father. He has not only said that through Jesus Christ I am received as His son, but He has treated me like a son, too. I have written some stories about events that are remarkable to me for they show His active interest in my life. I want to share them with you in the hope that your faith might be strengthened and that you might enjoy knowing that you have a Father who wants to be reconciled to you and to share life with you.

One of these stories tells how God brought me to Finland to share life with the woman He chose for me. I want to share these stories with the Finns among whom I live. My Pirjo has graciously translated them to her language.

Here are my stories in both English and Finnish.
